The give bar graph illustrates the proportion of households in owned the rented accommodation from 1918 to 2011, in England and Wales.
Overall, households owning accommodation percentage were considerably increased over the give time, while the frquency of households rented accommodation were decreased dramatically from during the 93 years period.
The percentage of households owned accommodation started with only approximately 24% in 1918, whereas, households rented accommodation at the greatest peak 77% in the same year. In between 1939 to 1953 households owned accommodation rose by almost 33% but households rented accommodation were dropped at around 68%, respectively. In addition, in 1971 both figures owned and rented accommodation was at same percentage of 50%.
Furthermore, households owned accommodation seeing a growth of 60% in 1981, meanwhile house renting experienced a fall of 40% in the same year. By contrast, in 2001 owned accommodation at it’s peak of almost 70% and rented accommodation at it’s lowest of approximately 36%. Finally, in the end of period in 2011 households owned accommodation was at around 64% and households rented accommodation at almost 37%.
