The bar chart demonstrates the percentage of the gender distribution of teachers across a range of types of educational setting in the UK in 2010.
In two of the six types female teachers outnumbered male teachers. Female teachers made up a particularly large proportion in the pre-school and primary school, approximately nine times as many women as men.
Male teachers and female teachers were more equally represented in three types: secondary school, collage, and private training institute. In secondary school, where there were nearly as many women [approximately 55] as men [approximately 45]. This was also true of private training institute. University, was the only type that male teachers outnumbered female teachers [roughly 70 men vs. 50 women].
Overall, the bar chart illustrates that women in the various types of educational setting in the Uk in 2010 are more represent than men and have a large proportion in types that related to pre-school and primary school; however, men have a significant presence in some types that are more related to adolescents and adults.
