The percentage of obese people saw a grow among all of the given countries. There was a remarkable increase in the level of obesity in America and Britain, starting with around 15% in 1980 and reaching the number of about 30%, indicating it as the highest percentage among all of the regions, for the former and seeing the rise from around 10% at the start of the given period to approximately 20% at the end of the given period for the latter.
However, while the percentage of overweight population in USA and Britain rocketed, there was only a marginal increase in Japan and Sweden. The propotion of obese people rose slightly from almost 0% to 5% in Japan, designating this country as one with the lowest level of obesity, and from about 5% to around 10% in Sweden.
Overall, there was an increase in the overweight adult population for all of the countries over the period, in question. While the percentage of obese people in Japan and Sweden rose slightly, the number of those in USA and Britain experienced a marked growth, with the USA having the highest propotion and Japan the lowest.
