Generally, castle was the most popular attraction for tourists to Scotland. The percentage of tourists to Scotland who visited zoo and castle increased while this figure for aquarium and festival decreased.
Regarding aquarium, the percentage of people who visited there increased significantly to just over 35% in 1985, but in 1990, this figure dropped back to 20%. Over the 5 years later, Scotland witnessed a marginal rise to just below 25%, followed by a gradual decrease in the remaining time. Next came to festival, the proportion of tourists started at over 30%, followed by a gradual decline of 5% over the period.
By contrast, the period from 1980 to 1995 witnessed a considerable growth of 20% in the percentage of people who visited the castle. Then, this figure went down significantly to 35% in 2010. In terms of zoo, this figure fluctuated in upward tendency to just over 20% in the whole period.
