The bar graph illustrates the French and Indian population by age group and gender in 1984.
Overall, the French population was rather well-distributed across all age brackets, while the Indian population had an inclination towards youngsters. It is also noted that the population of India was higher than that of France.
Upon closer inspection, the predominant age groups in terms of number was 30-35 years old for female with approximately 4 million people, and roughly the same number for male population within the ranges of 10 to 20 and 30-35 years old. While there were only about 0.2 million male French in 1984, the figure for that of female slightly exceeded 1 million people in the same year, a fivefold difference.
In India, only about 0.3 million senior citizens fell in the range of 65-70 years old for each gender, which was the least significant age bracket across the two sexes. Meanwhile, the age group with the highest number of population was 0-5 years old infants with roughly 7 million boys and about 6.5 million girls.
