Overall, coal was the primary source of energy production in 2000, which lost its popularity by a huge percentage in the year 2020. Whereas, renewable sources of energy gained a significant proportion of the energy production in 2020. Additionally, small deflection was observed in sources like natural gas and nuclear.

On the one hand, in 2000, 45% of the energy was produced using coal which dominated the energy production. Furthermore, Natural gas and nuclear contributed to energy production by 25% and 20% respectively. Renewable sources recorded a low proportion of 5% in energy production.

On the other hand, in 2020, renewable sources gained a noticeable popularity with a proportion of 30% and coal declined to 20%. Moreover, slight changes were noticed in nuclear and natural gas , nuclear declined to 15% and natural gas increased to 30%, while other sources of energy remained 5% in both cases.
