The given pie charts highlight the proportion of the ages of the populations of two countries namely Yemen and Italy in 2000 and the projections for 2050.
From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the population of Italy experienced older while this upward trend occurred in the 15-59 years old group of Yemen.
Looking at the pie charts in more detail, it is noteworthy that in 2000, in terms of Yemen’s population, the youngest group took a lion’s share which accounted for approximately a half. After the span of 50 years a moderate drop is predicted for the under 14 years group which is 37%. The former the middle ages group being 46,3% in 2000, the later will slightly climb up to 57,3%.
Regarding the remaining part of the charts, it is noticeable that the demographic pattern for Italy’s population is inclined to be older. The proportion of the oldest group precipitously grew to 46,2%, reaching the peak. The figure for the ages between 15 and 59 witnessed a reversed trend, which sharply dropped from about 10 higher than a half to 46,2%.
