The pie chart shows the venues where dancing classes are held in an Australian city, while the bar graph illustrates the kind of dance lessons taken by different age grades in the same town.
Overall, most of the dance classes take place in private studios and rarely in college based studios. Furthermore, as the students advance in age, their preference for a particular style changes.
To begin with, the pie chart shows that, almost half of the time, the dancers meet at privately owned studios for their classes. Less than quarter of the time, the sessions are held after school periods in the school buildings. These tutorials also hold in the community centres and other unnamed locations with a frequency of 18%. The least visited location for the lessons is the studios in the college, as it is being used only about 10%.
Moving on to the bar graph, it can be seen that the younger students aged under 11, prefer the ballet dances and recorded a total of 600 learners in that category, although they had over 400 in tap and 300 in newer dances. However, as they grow older, between ages 11-16, their choices begin to shift towards other dance types, with modern dance moves being the highest and having above 500 school children in attendance, while tap dance and ballet recorded approximately 410 and 300 pupils respectively.
