The pie chart illustrates different types of venues where dance classes take place in a certain Australian town, while the bar chart shows the number of attendees across three types of dances.
Overall, the majority of classes are held at private studios, closely followed by school halls. While ballet and tap are popular among those under 11 years old, modern dancing is favoured by those aged 11 to 16.
Looking at the pie chart in detail, almost half of the dancing tutorials are conducted at private studios (48%), whereas school halls make up half as much, at 24%. By contrast, the other two types of locations – community halls along with other unspecified venues collectively and school halls, stand at a modest 18% and 10%, respectively.
Of all the three dance classes, ballet is by far the most popular among the youngest, with 600 attendees, double the figure for their counterparts aged 11 to 16 attending (300). This figure is on par with the number of enrollments for modern dance classes (300), while that of the oldest age cohort is noticeably higher, at just over 500. As for tap dancing, participation is relatively balanced between the two age groups, with approximately 450 younger students and 420 older ones.
