The pie charts illustrate the percentage comparison between three computer operating systems’ global market and the other one from 2012 to 2015. Overall, this period witnessed the increasing market share of OS1, and eventually, the sector of OS1 was the largest, while that of OS2 and OS3 maintained a steady level. In contrast, other systems declined significantly.
In 2012, the OS1’s market share reached 20%, followed by OS2 with 17% and OS3 with 15%. Besides, the other systems had the highest share, particularly 48%.
Regarding the middle period, there were several fluctuations. First, the OS1 increased sharply, at 18 and 27 percentage points in 2013 and 2014 respectively, while the OS3 fluctuated slightly between 10% and 12%. As for the OS2, however, there was no change in 2013 then mildly increased in the following year. Second, the figure for other systems saw a drop in components, at 13-25 percentage points lost.
In 2015, the OS3 and other systems became the two smallest figures, at 15%. At the same time, the OS2 remained the proportion in the year before. The OS1 witnessed the considerable change, which started at 20% and ended with 52%.
