Speaking about bookseller in 1970. I can tell, that 20% read adult fiction, other 15% prefer to biographies, somebody also would like to chose books about travels. Children of course read children’s fiction, and people who don’t like any of these read some other books.
In 1992 the chart has slightly different statistics. Compared to 1970, people in 1997 prefer adult fiction, which is 25 percent more. Second place was taken by children’s fiction, it is 22 percent. Somebody chose biography, which is 15 percent. People, who like books about travels, of course chose it, we can see at this illustrate, that it was 18%. And 20% other books, i think it could be horror books or some science fiction.
And the last one, what chose people in 2012? It quite different compared to the previous ones. The best-selling books were in the genre adult fiction, this is shown in blue on the diagram an accounts for 45 percent. After adult fiction people chose children’s fiction, which is 25 percent. Books about travels have 10 percent, about biography it decreased than in previous years, only 8.
