The pie charts compare the popularity of four transportation modes- cars, buses, bicycles, and walking, used by the people in Cambridge in 2008 and 2018.
Overall, at the beginning, cars were most popular among the people, in opposition to walking, which was least popular. After a decade, popularity of bicycles became the highest, whereas cars became the lowest of all.
It can clearly be seen that the preference of motorized vehicles declined over a decade. In 2008, cars accounted for 42% of preferred transportation modes, which halved to 20% in 2018. Similarly, buses comprised 30% of transportation used in 2008 and dropped slightly to 25% in 2018.
In contrast, popularity of bicycles and walking increased significantly in 10 years. Popularity of bicycles was 17% in 2008 and experienced a rise to 30% in 2018. Walking, which made up one-tenth popularity in 2008, rose to about a quarter by 2018.
