Overall, the charts depict proportion of basic needs essentially required by an average individual – groceries, rent, health, leisure and transportation. One notable feature is that leisure expenses experienced steep decline over the year.
In 2012, the most dominant category for a average person was leisure expenses. However by 2022, the proportion of leisure expenses dropped significantly, accouting for roughly 8%. As for rent, over 16% increase was experienced over the period, where it had 25% in 2012 and 36% by 2022. Groceries experienced a mild change, only 3% upsurge after 10 years.
The propotion of health expenses category had a slight decline of approximately 2%, 21% in 2012 and 19% by 2022. Whereas, the budget for the transportation had a slight increase of over 7%, recorded 17% in 2012 and 24% by 2022.
