The two pie charts draw the comparison of the annual expenses of the average single person in Canada in 2012 and 2022.
Overall, a rise can be seen in 3 sectors namely: groceries, transportation and rent. However, expenditure in health and leisure has dropped over the course of 10 years.
In 2012, the most costly sector was rent, at 25%, then health at 22%. Following that, leisure was at 28% and transportation at 17%. During the year, expenses regarding groceries were the least, at only 9%.
In 2022, by contrast, groceries shot up by 4%, rent soared to 36% and transportation at 24%. While, payment for the leisure sector plummeted down to 8%. Additionally, the health sector declined by 2%.
