Overall, it is clear that Japan was the country which had the highest population density among six nations, while the opposite was true for Australia. However, population in Australia increased the most significantly, while the number of citizens in Sweden experienced a slight decline.
In terms of population density, in 2003, Japan was the country which had the largest number of people per square kilometer, with 336 people, followed by the United Kingdom and Italy, with 243 and 191, respectively. Sweden’s population density was by far lower, with only 20 people per square kilometer. The average numbers of people living in each square kilometer in Canada and Australia were relatively negligible, with only 3 and 2 people, respectively.
Regarding the changes in popolaion from 2003 to 2005, despite having the lowest population density, Australia’s population increased the most dramtically, at 1.42%, followed by Canada with 1.06%. The proportion changes in population of Japan and the United Kingdom were relatively small, at 0.35% and 0.25%, respectively. The number of people living Italy also increased, but less significantly, at only 0.11%. Meanwhile, Sweden was the only nation whose population experienced a slight fall, at 0.1%.
