The chart displays the share of favorite takeout restaurants by Canadians and also the number of Indian diners from the 1960 until 2015.
Overall, the top 3 most famous dishes are Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisine. The three dishes were around three-fourth (70%) of the takeaways favorite, where Chinese food was 34% of the transaction, while the Indian was 26% and Italian 10%. Coming close to the fourth place, Persian food covered 9% of the transaction. Around one-tenth of Canadians did not dine out from any restaurant.
As Indian cuisine placed the second, it was observed that the number of Indian restaurant were increased in span of 55 years. In the 1960 until 1970, the number of restaurants was far less than 2000 stores, a spike of jump happened in the eighties where the number of restaurant was growing in the coming years. Looking at the 2015, the Indian specialised restaurant was more than ten fold compared to the late 60’s.
