Overall, the proportion of female students in both 1984 and 2007 is extremely higher than that of boys; furthermore, the most common language studied by pupils in each year, 1984 and 2007, is French.
Firstly, in 1984, there was a significant percentage of female students who decided to learn a foreign language, about 49%; however, in 2007, the percentage of girls has changed a little, as it decreased gradually to 9%. The boys who studied foreign languages in 1984 and 2007 did not differ much, just about 6%.
Secondly, there are three languages learned by pupils, and it is easy to see that the highest percentage of people studied in 1984 was French, at about 50%; however, the number of students who studied French had dramatically decreased in 2007, to just 25 percent, which means that this number has been reduced by half. German did not change much in these 2 years, just decreasing by 5%. However, in contrast to other languages, Spanish had a slight increase of about 5% in 2007.
