The bar charts compare urban and suburban areas, in terms of four diverse types of noises which disturbed European people by day and by night in 2007.
Overall, the highest number of people were affected by traffic sounds throughout day, with dominant figures in both cities and countryside places. Noises which were occurred by trains and aircraft in cities throughout day and night reported about the same with rural areas. Of particular note was industries which affected mere number of people.
People were, especially, disturbed by day noises. 35 millions people were affected by traffic sounds throughout day in rural areas which were half the citizens (68 millions). People who disagreed from aircraft sounds reported about the same figures in both places. 4 millions for the former and 2 millions for the latter. Similarly, the figure of trains also was comparable, with respective figures 10 millions in cities and 8 millions in suburban places. Industry trailed behind with a million people.
A similar picture emerged for the figure of night noises in both places. Aircraft showed the same number with a million. The number of people who were disturbed by train sounds accounted for 8 millions compared to 6 millions of rural areas. People who lived countryside places showed only a negligible amount disturbance from industries, while 0.25 million people were affected in cities.
