The charts illustrate the percentage of food and goods which were bought in supermarkets in three countries in Europe in two separate, namely 1998 and 2008.
Overall, it can be seen that food and goods purchases increased over the given period in all 3 countries, and both of two categories was highest in Country 1 and lowest in Country 3.
Looking at the proportion of food bough in supermarkets, it is evident that in Country 1, there was a sharp increase from 10% in 1998 to 40% in 2008. In addition, the percentage of food which was bought in Country 2 rose slightly from about 25% in 1998 to 30% in 2008. Similarly, in Country 3, there was a margin growth from approximately 5% to 10% over the period, which was the lowest proportion in food category.
Turning to the next data set, the proportion of goods bought in Country 1 climbed dramatically from just under 20% in 1998 to 60% in 2008, which was the highest proportion, followed by Country 2 with a significant growth from around 40% to just over 50% in 2008. Finally, in Country 3, goods purchases experienced a slightly increse from nearly 2% in 1998 to 10% in 2008.
