The charts depict the portion of employees in different sectors in the period from 2016 to 2020. Overall, both towns have seen a rise in the number of workers in the service sector, while the reverse was true for the manufacturing sector.
Looking first at town A, the proportion of the service sector has noticeably swollen from 29% to 64% in 4 years, making up nearly two-thirds of the chart. In addition, both the manufacturing and sales sectors saw a significant decline by almost half between 2016 and 2020, holding a rather miniscule share of the chart.
In town B, manufacturing, while experiencing a moderate decline from 70% to 53%, has maintained its status as the dominant sector. Over this period, the services sector skyrocketed, with its workforce proportion rising from 10% to 25%, while the sales sector saw a slight increase, gaining 2% and peaking at 22% in 2020.
