The data presents a comparison of book preference between young adult readers (18-25 years old) and adult readers (26-34 years old) at A&Z library. The data extracted is from 2009.
From the charts, it is evident that the two reader groups had similar interest in general. They mostly preferred reading the same book genre: self-help books. Both the young adult and adult readers also liked science-fiction books the least. However, there is several differences in terms of the remaining details.
Although those two type of readers loved self-help books the most, the young adults relatively had bigger portion of self-help book enthusiast (58%) compared to the adult readers (42%). Moreover, there’s a stark difference between biographies readers in two reader categories as it was recorded that 31% of adult readers preferred to delve into that book genre, while there were only 10% of 18-25 years old readers enjoying it. Also, both groups had similar type in novel, with young adult and adult readers taking a percentage of 23% and 20% respectively.
