Overall, in the given pie chart, it can be clearly stated that majority of the students preferred to take Mandarin in both cities. Furthermore, the data given in Melbourne was more spread out but for Sydney, students mostly choose Mandarin or Japanese.
Melbourne had 40% of students choosing Mandarin while there was a slight increase in the number of students in Sydney, with 5% more. Similarly, the difference between these two cities of students who took Japanese was also 5%; however, Sydney had slightly more students choosing Japanese. There was a same pattern in students who chose other second language classes; the stat on Sydney was 5% higher than Melbourne.
Melbourne’s secondary school students were more interested in Italian compared to Sydney’s as there was 10% difference. Students who picked Indonesia was 10% in Melbourne while Sydney only had 5% rate.
