The bar chart compares the annual salaries, measured in thousands of US dollars, of doctors and other workers in seven countries in 2004.
Overall, it is clear that doctors earned significantly more than other workers in all countries. In addition, salaries were generally higher in developed countries compared to developing ones.
In terms of doctors’ earnings, the highest salaries were recorded in countries such as the USA and Switzerland, where doctors earned well over 100,000 dollars annually. Similarly, doctors in other developed nations also received relatively high pay, although slightly lower than in the top-paying countries. By contrast, doctors in developing countries earned considerably less, with figures remaining below 50,000 dollars.
Looking at other workers, their salaries were much lower in comparison. In most countries, their annual income was under 50,000 dollars, and in some developing nations, it was even below 20,000 dollars. Despite these lower figures, a similar pattern can be observed, with higher wages in developed countries and lower pay in less developed ones.
