The four pie charts show the percentage of different class size in primary schools in 2010, across four states in Australia, including New South Wales, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Western Australia.
Overall, the age between 21 and 25 accounted for the largest proportion in each state, which indicates that the class size between 21 and 25 is the most popular scale of teaching in Australian primary schools.
New South Wales and Western Australia have no substantial difference in the distribution of the class sizes. Apparently, a class with 21-25 students accounted for the largest share in these two states, followed by the figures for classes having fewer than 20 students. By contrast, only no more than 5% of the classes had over 30 students.
In other two states, there is a totally different pattern of class sizes. Notably, roughly half of the classes in Australian Capital Territory consist of 21-25 students. Also, classes with under 20 students occupied merely 10% in this state. Likewise, in South Australia, classes with the largest number of students also take up the smallest percentage.
