The chart above illustrates the proportion of students enrolled in various courses at an adult education center, comparing data from 1985 to the current year.
Overall, the percentage of students participating in courses that include fitness and dance activities has remained constant. However, the Modern Languages course shows a decline in interest, with only 17% of students enrolling this year, compared to 24% in 1985. Additionally, this year, students are only taking five courses related to IT, a notable difference from the offerings in 1985.
Throughout the year, the majority of students expressed interest in the IT course, which has a participation rate of 27%. This course is the most recent addition to the adult education center, replacing the Local History course that was previously offered in 1985. Furthermore, Music Appreciation courses have been removed from the current offerings, leading to an increase in student enrollment in Cookery courses this year.
In contrast, the percentage of students taking the Modern Languages course has sharply decreased from 24% in 1985 to 17% currently. Similarly, there has been a slight decrease in enrollment for the Art course, dropping from 17% to 15% in the current year.
