In the chart, in North America and Europe, half of their water resources are used for Industrial work – 49% and 53% respectively. The remaining water resources are split between agricultural and domestic use, in North America 39% and 13%, in Europe 32% and 18% respectively.
In contrast to developed nations, developing countries utilize a significantly larger portion of their water resources for agriculture, rather than industrial purposes. South America 71%, South East Asia 81%, Africa 84%, and Central Asia 88% – the largest portion of water resources has been consumed for Agricultural use. In the case of Industrial and Domestic use, Developing Countries are consuming a minimal portion of water, Africa at 7% and 9%, Central Asia at 5% and 7%, South East Asia at 12% and 7%, and South America at 10% and 19% respectively – more than 1/4 of their water resources.
Overall, developed countries like North America and Europe are using the most water for Industrial work. The other countries are using them in Agriculture. In some countries, a minimal portion of water is consumed for domestic usage.
