The pie charts give information about how much proportion of water is used for three kinds of purposes in different regions of the world.
It is clear that in North America and Europe, people use most of the water for industrial use, while individuals in other regions use most of the water for agriculture.
According to the diagram, we can see 48% of water is used for industry in North America, which is 5% less than the percentage in Europe. Furthermore, in these two areas, people utilize 39% and 32% of water for agriculture, compared with 13% and 15% of water for households.
In contrast, residents in South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia spend a much larger proportion of water on agricultural purposes, with 71%, 84%, 88%, and 81%, respectively. The water used domestically makes up 19% of South America, which is 10% higher than the proportion of Africa and 12% higher than the percentage of Central Asia and South East Asia. For comparison, the proportion of industrial use is 10%, 7%, 5%, and 12% for the former four areas, respectively.
