Overall, the proportion of holidaymakers staying with family or camping faced a slight decrease. In contrast, the reverse was true for those who stayed at hotels or rented apartments.
In 1988, the proportion of tourists using rented apartment was 7% and this was followed by a marked increase to 11%.After this, the figure doubled.On the other hand,the figure for tourists who stayed at hotels stood at 15% in 1988 after which it grew significantly by 7% in 1998 and remained stable till the end of the period.
Although the proportion of visitors staying with family contributed the most in 1988, slightly more than 50%, after a negligible growth to 54%, the figure decreased dramatically by 10% in final year. Similarly, the figure for tourists was 26% in 1988, after a two-fold drop in 1998, the proportion decreased further by 1%.
