The two bar graphs illustrate how many people suffered from four specific types of noise disturbance in Europe in 2007, traffic, train, aircraft, and industry, during the day and night shifts.People affected from those types of pollutions are measured in millions.
Overall, noise pollution in throughout the day was consistently higher than that of night shifts in both urban area and rural places, with the traffic category constituting the biggest share. Conversely, noise pollution in industry sites were so negligible that only citizens were slightly affected by this in day shifts and it was not exist in rural places.
Sound disturbance that people affected the most in urban areas was the traffic category, with constituting about 60 million and just under 50 million in both parts of the day, respectively. Depite having significantly less numbers than the leader of the chart, noise disturbance coming from trains was the second highest figure among all categories, making up at about 10 and 8 million in both respective shifts. Aircraft category disturbed the insignificant numbers of people in both parts of the day, about 3 and 1 million.
Despite having less numbers than urban areas, noise congestion coming from traffic was a major problem there either, over 30 millions in day part and about 25 millions in the night. As for train, it affected about 9 millions of people in sunny part of the day, approximately 8 millions of people in the night shift. Statistics for aircraft were the same as the rural areas. There was no any noise pollution from industry disturbed the people.
