About 25% of the girls in the survey said that they often joined dancing in their free time, compared to approximately 2% of their male counterparts. By contrast, the percentage of teen boys going to cultural activities to play musicals was far higher than that of girls, with respective figures being 15% and 10%.
The percentage of teenagers who preferred singing and drama was the same for both genders, with 5% of the total boys and girls participating in singing and 4% for both genders engaging in drama. Dramatic differences were also seen in the proportion of girls and boys doing sport, which was 70% of boys and over around 52% of girls.
