Dancing was by far the most popular cultural activity among girls, with around 27% participating, compared to just 3% of boys. Drama and singing attracted moderate interest, with approximately 6% of girls involved in each, while the figure for boys remained at about 3%. The only cultural activity where boys surpassed girls was playing a musical instrument, with 16% of boys taking part compared to 8% of girls.
When it comes to sports participation, boys were clearly more active, with nearly 70% involved in sports, whereas around 54% of girls took part.
