The bar diagram indicate the changes in the exporting of pineapple globally by the top three producing countries between 2009 and 2019, while the pie graph illustrates the price breakdown per pineapple to the consumer(2019).
Overall, in 2019, the exporting of pineapple by country A ranked the top, while distribution & retail had the largest proportion of the total cost.
As is observed from the bar chart, at the beginning of the period, country B had the largest exports compared with other countries, with approximately 5 million metric tonnes, while in country A and country C, the figures are both lower than 2 million metric tonnes. After 2009, the exporting of pineapple in country A was on an upward trend and reached the top point, over 10 million metric tonnes. Meanwhile, pineapple exports by country B declined to 1.7 million metric tonnes. Although exports by country C went up, it always remained the last place among the three countries.
The pie diagram gives more detailed information about the breakdown of the cost each pineapple. Surprisingly, about a third of the total cost is on distribution & retail, followed by 18% on profit and 16% on taxes. The percentage of costs on import licence is twice as large as that on producer, with 10% and 5% respectively. The proportion of exports costs was the minimum, with 4%.
