The Climograph illustrates the average monthly rainfall and temperature recorded in Kolkata over the course of a year. Overall, both temperature and precipitation reach their highest levels in the middle of the year, while the beginning and end show much lower values. There appears to be a correlation, as temperature tends to rise and fall in line with rainfall.
From January to May, rainfall increases gradually from around 10 mm in January to nearly 100 mm by May. Meanwhile, the temperature steadily rises from approximately 20 degrees Celsius to just under 30 degrees Celsius.
Between June and September, precipitation climbs sharply, peaking at about 330 mm in July. Although rainfall starts to decline afterward, it remains relatively high. Temperature remains steady during these months, hovering slightly above 30 degrees Celsius.
From October to December, both rainfall and temperature drop. Rainfall decreases sharply from around 150 to 10 millimetres, while temperature falls from about 28 to 20 degrees Celsius.
