The two maps compare the layout of a library before and after its modification. Overall, there are two newly-added amenities after a reduction in size of a former room, whereas a garden is also added to the building. Additionally, a former section named the reference area is repurposed into a reading area, while rooms that are designated for adults remained intact after the reconstruction.
The building was generally equipped with several new parts, with a garden being constructed in the backward side of the library. On the right of this garden is the children’s room, which used to occupy the entire space of the right-hand part, is redesigned with a smaller size to make way for new areas. Specifically, a new room called reference room is introduced to be situated at the low corner of the right-hand part, and between it and the children’s room is a magazine room with long shelves being installed in the middle of the room.
Turning to the left side of the library, the adult-fiction and adult-non fiction are the only areas that experience no shifts. Meanwhile, although the previous reference room witnessed no change in size, its function is transformed into a reading area with new furniture. It is also worth noting that the former desk, which used to be positioned in the middle of the area, is relocated closer to the front door, thereby creating more space for internal furniture.
