The diagram depicts the cross section of the landfill utilized for household waste. Overall, to construct the structure, the layer of Earth consisting of natural rocks needs to be drilled. Afterwards, some pieces of equipment are installed to make landfill suitable for dumping garbage.
First things first, man-made hole is created as the basis for the landfill within the natural rocks before clay is laid all across the surface. This clayed surface is now covered with another synthetic lining, on which drainage pipes are put. Just beneath the pipes and linings, drainage tank is installed for the waste liquid.
Upon established, the household waste is fed into the ready landfill with the help of special trucks. Having been used up after some time, the whole landfill is sealed with clay cover, with a pipe installed in order for the gases of the waste to be released outside. The waste liquid, in turn, via the drainage tank spreads across the nearby soil.
