The diagram shows the procedures done to produce ethanol fuel. The longest step in producing ethanol fuel would be fermenting the cooked and milled corn which takes two days.
First, after being harvested, corn is stored to be used in the steps.A while later, the stored corn is milled which results in corn flour. The third step would be cooking corn flour with water which lasts for four hours. The cooked corn flour is then fermented for 48 hours. The next step would be separating the results of the fermenting which results in two components which are the solid by-product and the liquid ethanol. After moving the solid by-product aside, the liquid ethanol is being purified to take its final form. The purification takes 5 hours. The last two steps would be storing the ethanol in a specific container and transporting it to be distributed.
In conclusion, assuming that most of the steps do not take much time , the whole process to produce ethanol fuel takes about two days and 9 hours. Therefore, if the equipment and resources used are not so expensive, ethanol fuel should be one of the cheapest fuels that is mass produced and a good alternative to fuel made using oil if they have the same efficiency.
