The process diagram indicates the formation of rain shadow desert.
Overall, the diagram illustrates a linear process comprising of seven phases, beginning with moist winds approaching the coast and ending with the formation of a rain shadow desert on the leeward side of the mountain.
Initially, the winds are approached to the coastal area , after that kind of winds are pushed upward from sea-water level. The third step is that the pushed winds mix with moist air. Subsequently, the moist air is risen and then cool. The moist air is getting deposited on clouds. Subsequent to that this result is heavy rain prediction on the windward side.
After heavy raining, rain falls are dried at the top of the mountain, then the dry air blows continuously over the mountain in leeward side. Eventually, dry winds reach to inland areas. This is the formation of rain shadow desert. Overall, this process happens in thousands of kilometers.
