The diagram illustrates the stages of Organic matter to produce compost.
Overall, it is evident that the process of decomposition involves series of stages, starting from the use of a ventilated container to the last stage which is the formation of fertilizer for farming.
First and foremost, a perforated plastic container about 2m in size is used to gather the organic materials, this material has holes to allow the passage of air. It is then followed by addition of layers of waste matter and plant waste of about 15cm each. Newspaper is then added as the top most layer in this segment.
Following this, nitrogen and water is added to this decaying substances under very hot climatic condition to aid faster decomposition. Subsequently, the container with the decaying substance is covered and heat evaporated through the openings on the body and left for six months to fully decay. After 6 months, it is then opened and this organic waste is now converted to fertilizer, which will now be used for plants and farms in order to boost plant growth.
