The illustration depicts how uranium is used in creation of nuclear power.
Overall, the process contains 6 stages, after 4th step there is two possible ways – one of them is leading to the final step without the opportunity to continiue the cycle by collecting radiactive waste and putting this under the ground to store, and the other way is to reuse the fuel for producing the electricity again, which can be repeteable.
The process begins with mining uranium from the earth, after that uranium ore is being processed to create U-253 pellets which can be used in the next step for making electricity on the power plants. The amount of time these fuel pellets can be used is 4 years after that they have to be removed and replaced. Some remnants can be reused, after repeated processing U-235 can be used to generate power again. If fuel is not suitable anymore it becomes a waste, which has to be stored in countainers and be burried for safety measures.
