Overall, it is clear that there has been a dramatic change in the structure of the town, particularly in the development of road. It is also worth mentioning that the river remained more or less unchanged over the given period.
The city had a simple view, with a few facilities. In the north-west corner of the map, there was woodland. To the north-east corner, Assford was situated.
By the present day, several changes had occurred, with the addition of the new ameneties. The woodland was cleared into open space.
