The diagram illustrates the transformation of public library’s floor plan from two decades before now and the current situation. The function of the public library does not change that much, however some rooms are switched or relocated with others room.
Starting from the east side, before renovation the central library has a corner of play rooms (CDs, video, computer games). But now, it has changed into books corner, especially children’s fiction books that is completed with sofa and storytelling events. Outside of the room, previously this building has an adult fiction books area, but it is also switched into more general books hall. Lastly from east side, the reading room is not there anymore, instead they changed it with computer room.
On the central of the library, there are was tables & chairs that are free to use by visitors, but now it is all cleared. Moving on to the west side, since the children room is relocated to the next of the references books hall, the spot is currently used for lacture room. The hall way is also filled with adult fiction books and self service machines, not adult non fiction books anymore. Lastly, the enquiry desk is rebuild as a cafe to hangout.
