The diagram depicts the step involved in the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly.
Overall, there are four stages of the life of a Monarch butterfly. The whole process usually takes up to six months to transform from an egg to an adult.
The process begin with the egg stage,where eggs are laid on milkweed.It takes around two weeks for the hatching into a new larva. A newly hatched larva is developed into an attachment of larva. In this phase,it mostly act as a caterpillar on milkweed. After 10 days,the attachment of larva,is changed into chrysalis which stay in the hanging condition like previous stage.
In the third stage, the cryaslis transformed into an adult and a start a migration to the south which takes almost 6 months. At the last stages, the norgh migrates to breef and lay new eggs and the cycle continues.
