The diagram illustrates the sequential process of production of pu-erh raw tea and pu-erh ripe tea.
Overall, the manufacturing of these types of tea is intricate and encompasses distinct 7 stages, requiring different methods of production for the each type.
The initial process commences with pan flying trees. Following a growth period, the leaves of these trees are colected and put under the sun for drying. This step represents a critical transition, because it forms loose raw tea. Thereafter, some part of loose raw tea is separated and undergoes a compression stage. This result in forming of pu-erh raw tea. Subsequently, after a storage process has been employed to age the pu-erh raw tea.
Meanwhile, the remaining part of loose raw tea is used in order to create pu-erh ripe tea. After obtaining loose raw tea, the material experiences a fermentation process, whrein mold introduced to facilitate the preparation of loose ripe tea. Before the pu-erh ripe tea has been obtained, loose ripe tea is compressed. In the final stage, pu-erh raw tea and pu-erh ripe tea are ready for distribution.
