Overall, there are various stages to make pu-erh ripe and vintage tea. Both two types need go through some same stages to make loose raw tea.

Initially, tea is put into frying pan and heated to inactivate the enzymes. Then, it was dried by puting into a spray under the sun. After all these steps, we finally get the loose raw tea. Both ripe and vintage tea making processes contain all above stages.

Loose raw tea is compress directly in order to get pu-erh raw tea. Aging the raw tea in the storage, we finally get the vintage pu-erh raw tea. On the other hand, although ripe tea also needs to be compressed, it requires some staged before that process can go on. Loose raw tea is turned into loose ripe one by fermented by Mold. Following that, pu-erh ripe tea is made after compressing loose ripe tea.
