The given diagram depicts the various steps involved in the processing of milk which is a series of 10 steps commencing with the addition of raw milk to the holding tank and ending with milk packed into bottles.
In the Ab-initio step, raw milk from the dairy farm is added to the holding tank a portion of which is separated for testing and the remaining is sent for manufacture of products namely cheese, butter, cream and skimmed milk. A part of the raw milk is used for cheese preparation and the remaining undergo separation through a machine, giving off three products which are cream and skim milk for standardization and for butter production. Skimmed milk and cream are combined along with an optional addition of vitamins A and D to generate milk of required fat ratio before putting it through the pasteurization process.
During this step, the undergoes heating and cooling through the respective water systems, before getting homogenized. Dried milk products are the result of extra processes including evaporation and condensation done to a section of the above output, while the remaining milk is loaded into bottles, cartons or plastic jugs and eventually gets packed.
