Overall, the process comprises seven main steps, starting with consumers using plastic bottles and ending with new goods being manufactured. Notably, this process is linear.
At the initial stage, plastic bottles are utilized by people for their intended purpose. This is followed by the collection of plastic bottles in recycling bins and their transportation to the recycling facility in garbage trucks. Subsequently, the bottles are washed to remove any non-plastic waste in order for the new raw material to be usable for production of new goods.
After that, the freshly cleaned bottles are sent through a shredder that makes them into small plastic pieces. In the penultimate step, these bits of plastic go through a special machine called an extruder; here plastic pellets are produced. Finally, new products, such as toys, packaging, and bottles are manufactured from these pellets.
