The diagram illustrates the process by which olive oil is made.
Overall, the process is made up of seven stages, beginning with harvesting ripe olives from the trees in the field, and ending when the olive oil is packaged and delivered to retail outlets.
The process commences when ripe olives are picked and put into baskets. Subsequently, olives are carried to a rinsing machine, where they are cleaned with cold water. Once olives have been cleaned, they are sent on a conveyor belt to a smashing machine. At this point, olives are processed into a paste by being crushed into and their seeds are put into a separate bowl. In the next step, olive paste is placed in a bag with holes, after which it is pressed in a machine, and the remaining water is extracted from the oil. Finally, the olive oil is stored and taken to retailers for sale.
