The diagram illustrates the process required to produce cement and how it this material used for the production of concrete.
Overall, different materials are treated with heat and grinded to produce cement. At the same time, cement is mixed with other material to create concrete.
For cement production, limestone and clay are needed. This two elements go through a crusher that transform them into a powder. This powder is mixed and then treated in a rotating heater. After the effect of heat, the powder pass through a grinder. As a result, cement is obtained. Finally, the new product is packed in bags.
When it comes to the production of concrete, a 15% of cement is used along with other materials. The principal material is gravel which constitutes 50% of the ingredients. Also a quarter of sand is used (25%) and finally, 10% of water is added. All this elements are mixed by using a piece of equipment called concrete mixer to produce concrete.
