In the initial stage, the raw water goes through a pipe before being contained by a break pressure tank. Then the water flows to the second tank where filtration occurs. At this stage, the water divides into 3 main layers, which is dirt and particles, sand layer and grave layer. The sand layer depth is 60-90cm, while it is 20-30cm for the grave layer.

After the filtration, the fresh water is collected by underdrains, which are installed in the bottom of the second tank. Before flowing into the third chamber.
