The diagram illustrates the steps involved in the production of smoked fish. Overall, the process includes several steps which can be grouped into three main stages: transportation, preparation and distribution.
The diagram starts when fish are caught with the help of nets in the sea. Then, the caught fish is delivered to a port on special boats, and a freezer is used to keep the catch fresh and unspoiled.
In the following stage, the frozen fish are melted in fresh water to prepare them for further processing. Their bodies are then cut open to remove non-edible parts, and the rest are soaked in salty water mixed with yellow coloring. After soaking, the fish are cooked in special equipment like smoking chamber.
The ready fish are packed, then, they are transported to freezers for being kept in cold storage facilities to maintain quality. The process ends with distribution of smoked fish to shops and stores.
